In the bible, especially in the old testament (or covenant), we read about a number of covenants that were cut between two people, two nations and between God and man. However, the most significant old testament covenant, also referred to in the new covenant, is the one God made with Abraham promising him that he would have a child of his own, as many descendants as the stars in the sky and also inherit the land. Abraham asked God, “how shall I know that I will inherit it?” and in response God cut covenant with him.
