“No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends.” John 15:13

On this Easter weekend we remember with the deepest of appreciation and thanks the love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus. He died for us, He was led like a lamb to the slaughter for us and it was the greatest exchange in history. Jesus loves you so much, today and forever, that He took upon Himself all the penalty and punishment you deserved and gave you freedom, abundant life, righteousness, peace, joy and all of Him. It was God’s excellent plan to save you.

Isaiah says about Jesus that, ‘He was beaten, he was tortured, but he didn’t say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it all in silence. Justice miscarried, and he was led off- and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare, beaten bloody for the sins of my people. They buried him with the wicked, threw him in a grave with a rich man, Even though he’d never hurt a soul or said one word that wasn’t true. Still, it’s what GOD had in mind all along, to crush him with pain. The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he’d see life come from it-life, life, and more life. And GOD’s plan will deeply prosper through him. Out of that terrible travail of soul, he’ll see that it’s worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant, will make many “righteous ones,” as he himself carries the burden of their sins. Therefore I’ll reward him extravagantly- the best of everything, the highest honors- Because he looked death in the face and didn’t flinch, because he embraced the company of the lowest. He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many, he took up the cause of all the black sheep.’ (Isaiah 53:7-12)

You may have heard the phrase, ‘the black sheep of the family’ used to describe a person who feels like the outcast, the one who does not live up to expectation bringing disgrace and embarrassment to the family. Jesus took up the cause of everyone of us because as sinners we would have been regarded as the black sheep of His family. But Jesus made us right with God by His death. He turned the black sheep around by taking up their cause, their wrongs, their shortcomings, their sins on the cross and the bible says ‘though a your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool.’

Jesus paid the price in full for your salvation, His life for your life – so that sin, sickness, failure, fear, poverty and untimely death cannot hold you down. You should resist them all in His name, standing firm in faith, because ‘Christ purchased your freedom and redeemed you from the curse of the Law and its condemnation by becoming a curse for you -for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS [crucified] ON A TREE (cross)”’ (Galatians 3:13)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I remember your sacrifice on the cross and I thank you with all of my heart for giving your life so I can have the life of God today. I pray that my heart will fully understand all that you have done for me and that I will walk graciously in the reality of my freedom in Christ Jesus. It is all because of you Jesus and I bless you, thank you and give you the Greatest Praise!!!
