He said, “Neither. I’m commander of GOD’s army. I’ve just arrived.” Joshua fell, face to the ground, and worshiped. He asked, “What orders does my Master have for his servant?” Joshua 5:14 MSG

God knows ahead of time how he is going to deliver you, and so all He asks of us is to believe. God told the Israelites He would give them the land of Canaan, some believed Him, but most did not. Those who did not believe couldn’t because all they saw were the obstacles, the hindrances, the things that looked insurmountable in the eyes of men and in their eyes. They could not see God bigger, mightier, and stronger, and as a result they all died in the wilderness.

God had a plan all the time, a plan that involved Him parting River Jordan for them to cross, a plan that involved Him sending the commander of His army to help them. But only God knew the plan and all He required was for them to believe Him, believe in Him and believe His word. Joshua did, and he got to experience Gods great deliverance and victory.

The How belongs to God. God, your God is asking you to believe and trust Him because His word never fails and never returns to Him unaccomplished. Know that His ways are so much higher, so much bigger than yours. Those who died because of their unbelief could not have known how God would do it, they could not have known the miracles that lay ahead of them, the divine interventions God had in mind, but they could have believed He would be with them powerfully because of His faithfulness to His word as they had already experienced before.

In Mark 4:26-29, we read that, “The kingdom of God is like a man who throws seed on the ground; and he goes to bed at night and gets up every day, and [in the meantime] the seed sprouts and grows; how [it does this], he does not know. The earth produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head [of grain], then the mature grain in the head. But when the crop ripens, he immediately puts in the sickle [to reap], because [the time for] the harvest has come.”

It is God who makes the earth produce crop by itself. It is God who produces the blade, God who produces the head of grain, God who produces the mature grain and God who causes the crop to ripen. He brings the time of harvest. The believer goes to bed at night and gets up every day, and [in the meantime] the seed sprouts and grows; how [it does this], he does not know, God knows. All God is asking is for your complete surrender, trusting and believing in Him, in His word (which is the seed planted) and in the knowledge that harvest will come Gods way!

His word is His promise to you. His word is the seed and the fruit which represents the desire of your heart is in the seed. God will bring it to pass, believe Him.
