He will sustain you
Fola Komolafe
Cast your burden on the Lord (release it) and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall or fail) Psalm 55:22
I remember going to many swimming lessons with my children, and there were usually a few children (including one of mine) who despite having their swimming costumes and every kind of protective floats on would not jump into the water. It did not make a difference that they could see so many other children happily swimming, they would not jump in or release themselves to the water because they did not trust the floats or the instructor that they would not drown.
God is our ultimate instructor, He is our teacher and He has proven Himself to be more trustworthy than anyone else. He has given us his word filled with precious promises that He cannot break as protective floats to help us jump into all that He has already made provision for in our lives. So, as we release ourselves and jump into all His blessings by obeying His word, we are demonstrating our wholehearted trust in Him. Releasing and casting all our cares and burdens on Him, is evidence of our trust in Him to keep us, sustain us and uphold us.
You and I are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. As His righteous ones, we have entered into an absolutely lovely place of covenant with God through Christ Jesus, where He has promised us so many good rights just because we are righteous. One of those rights is that He will never allow us to be shaken, to slip, to fall or to fail. All we need to do is to believe and trust Him completely because we have nothing to lose by trusting Him. If anything, we have everything to gain!
Another bible translation of Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast upon Yahweh thy lot, and, he, will sustain thee: He will not suffer, to times age abiding, the righteous one to be shaken.” I really love the phrase, ‘to times age abiding’ because times age abiding means forever and ever and ever. God keeps his covenant, He keeps his promises to the righteous forever and ever. Psalm 89:34 says, “My covenant I will not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.”
I want to encourage you to throw on Him today every weight, every care, every plan, every dream, every burden, every pain, every brokenness and every hurt you are going through. Release it all to Him in prayer believing that He is going to sustain, keep and uphold you; and knowing confidently that you are not going down because of Him. He is able, and He is strong enough to carry you through.
1 Peter 5:7 says, “Throw all your worry on Him, because He cares for you.”

The word really encouraged me and helped me once again to look at things in a different way. God bless.
